All University of the Philippines needs is one more win to book a seat in the UAAP men's basketball finals for a second straight year.
Standing in the Fighting Maroons' way is University of Santo Tomas, a team that beat coach Bo Perasol and his crew twice in the elimination round.
All that recent history holds little relevance, though, when the two squads play in the Season 82 stepladder semifinals at Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, Nov. 10.
Game time is at 4 p.m.
Compared to their two meetings in the preliminaries, UP and UST will field complete rosters, with former MVP Bright Akhuetie and prized recruits Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero leading the Fighting Maroons, and reigning MVP Soulemane Chabi Yo and top rookies Mark Nonoy and Rhenz Abando steering the Growling Tigers.
Because it secured the No. 2 seed, UP carries a twice-to-beat incentive in their face-off.
Can the Fighting Maroons end their season-long hoodoo to coach Aldin Ayo and co.? Or can the Growling Tigers extend their campaign one more game?
