If Floyd Mayweather Jr. is serious about fighting UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, then it has to be in mixed martial arts.
UFC president Dana White said he’s not pitting one of his biggest fighters in a boxing match against Mayweather since they have already done it with Conor McGregor.
"Listen, if Mayweather wants to fight, come fight. You fight in the UFC. We're not boxing him. We did that once. That's over. You wanna fight? You come fight . . . a real fight," White said in TMZ.
Mayweather figured in a “money fight” against McGregor in August 2017, stopping the UFC star in 10 rounds to improve his unblemished career record to 50-0.
Nurmagomedov himself defeated McGregor, by submitting the Irishman inside an MMA cage. Following his victory, he called out the American boxer.
Mayweather said that he’s willing to take on the Russian wrestler, but he wants it under boxing rules.
"Who's the A-side? He called me out, so he have to come to my world," Mayweather said.
