Jerwin Ancajas is putting some finishing touches on his technique and strategies for his upcoming world junior bantamweight title defense which happens next week in Carson City, California.
It will be Ancajas' eighth title defense and coach Joven Jimenez wants his ward to come up with a decisive victory over Jonathan Rodriguez of Mexico.
"'Yung offense din Jerwin pine-perfect namin," said Jimenez. "Gusto namin lalabas graceful ang mga galaw ni Jerwin."
By graceful, the coach meant perfect timing and delivery of punches.
"'Pag mas graceful at fluid ang galaw niya, mas perfect ang timing, perfect ang delivery, accuracy, pati power," he said.
Jimenez added that they based their strategy on Rodriguez's movements and his tendencies ont eh ring.
"Pinag-aralan namin ng husto ang magiging posibling gagawin ng kalaban, nere-review namin palagi."
Regarding weight, Team Ancajas is confident he will be able to comfortably make the 115-pound limit.
With the help of nutrition expert Jeaneth Aro, Ancajas has been tapering down steadily.
"Masigla at nasa condition siya. Hindi po manghihina dahil maganda ang programa ni Ma’am Jeaneth. Normal na normal at ang mood ay masiyahin," he said.
