Bernabe, 2 other Pinoys win in Pacman's event

SAN MANUEL, California - After a hard day of sparring, Manny Pacquiao took on a different role outside the ring.

His MP promotions held a 7-match card involving 3 Filipino fighters at the San Manuel Indian Casino on Thursday night.

He appeared in the ring and thanked fans for attending the event.

Bernabe Concepcion took home the World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas featherweight title in a match against Aaron Garcia.

The 12-round match became a slugfest, with both fighters landing clean punches.

However, Concepcion came out on top in the close split decision.

Former mini flyweight champion Rodel Mayol dominated Ernie Marquez with body punches until the referee stopped the fight in the fourth round.

Mayol was awarded the victory via technical knockout.

After exchanging punches with Rigoberto Casillas for 8 rounds, super flyweight Richie Mepranum improved his record to 19 wins 3 losses 1 draw through a unanimous decision win.
