TOKYO—The Philippine flag will fly high in "The Land of the Rising Sun", as 5 Filipinos are set to do battle in ONE: Century, the 100th offering of Asia-based martial arts group ONE Championship.

The card is at historic Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo hall here on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Leading the Filipino contingent is ONE heavyweight world champion Brandon Vera as he makes his way down to the 102.1-kilogram division for the first time in his ONE career.

Vera will challenge 2-division titleholder Aung La N Sang of Myanmar for the ONE light heavyweight world championship.

Vera, 42, has been nothing short of dominant in his ONE career, but will definitely be tested by a man who has been equally dominant in N Sang, the promotion’s reigning middleweight and light heavyweight king.

The two will headline the second half of the two-part mega card.

In the co-main event of the same card, Filipino striker Kevin Belingon of Team Lakay has his sights set on reclaiming the ONE bantamweight world title against long-time rival and reigning titleholder Bibiano Fernandes of Brazil.

Belingon and Fernandes are set to clash for a fourth time, with their most recent meeting ending in a bit of controversy after illegal blows to the head led to Belingon being disqualified and dethroned.

In a featured matchup on Part 2, former ONE featherweight world champion Honorio Banario hopes to end his two-bout skid when he meets former two-time ONE lightweight world champion and Japanese MMA legend Shinya Aoki.

Co-headlining the first half of the full-day event will be Filipino flyweight sensation Danny Kingad of Team Lakay, facing American MMA star and former long-time UFC Flyweight World Champion Demetrious Johnson in the finals of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix.

With Part 1 being aired live on American primetime television, Kingad, 23, faces the biggest test of his career, and he gets to do it on the biggest platform that he has ever been on.
