San Miguel Beer survived a late charge by Magnolia to hack out a 90-89 win in the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup at Mall of Asia Arena Friday.

June Mar Fajardo had a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Dez Wells top-scored with a game-high 33 points.

Thus the Beermen remained undefeated in 4 games, while snapping the Hotshots' 3-game win streak.

Romeo Travis paced Magnolia with 31 points, but was forced to leave the game after injuring his ankle midway through the fourth.

Magnolia had the chance to steal the game in the dying seconds when Ian Sangalang secured an offensive rebounds off Mark Barroca's miss.

Fortunately, Wells was in position to score a steal and preserve the win for the Beermen.

In the first game, Columbian Dyip beat Blackwater 102-90.

Rookie of the year candidate CJ Perez paced the Dyip with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Khapri Alston added 24 points and 20 rebounds.

Aaron Fuller, who replaced Marqus Blakely as its reinforcement, led Blackwater with 26 points.
