TOKYO—A cloud of uncertainty hovered over ONE Championship’s historic 100th event, dubbed ONE: Century, at Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Hall here on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Super-typhoon Hagibis is expected to make landfall over Japan this coming weekend and, as people brace for strong winds and heavy rains, a number of major sporting events set to take place over the weekend have already been cancelled.
Hagibis' impending arrival has prompted people and the government to take precaution. Train systems will be suspended, while some establishments are also expected to cease operations that day.
The concern has also affected a number of major sporting events that have been scheduled for the weekend.
The Japanese Grand Prix has already cancelled its Saturday activities, and the same goes for the Rugby World Cup, which has two scheduled fixtures on that day.
However, ONE will be pushing through with its scheduled two-part mega card.
