Romeo Travis scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Mark Barroca's free throw with less than a minute left proved to be the marginal game winner, as Magnolia topped Rain Or Shine 69-68 in the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup on Friday.

In the first game at Mall of Asia Arena, Baser Amer finished with 27 points and Allen Durham added 25 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists to lead Meralco to a 101-75 win over Alaska.

After Barroca put Magnolia up by 1, Rain Or Shine missed 2 attempts at retaking the lead -- a Beau Belga flub from 3-point territory and a Gabe Norwood bucket that didn't find its mark.

Magnolia upped its record to 2-1, tying Meralco and idle Columbian Dyip.

Rain Or Shine dropped to 1-2, while Alaska slid to 0-4.
