MANILA -- Days after putting Fil-Tongan bigman Asi Taulava on the unrestricted free agent list, the management of NLEX has reportedly changed its mind and reactivated the PBA veteran.
The 46-year-old center has yet to see action in the PBA Governors Cup due to a knee injury.
According to Spin, Tualava was put on the unrestricted free agent list after reactivating Papot Paredes who will temporarily replace injured Poy Erram in the lineup.
But the team's management changed its mind and reactivated Taulava even as Paredes suits up for NLEX’s game against San Miguel Beer in Dubai.
As proof that Taulava is still with the team, he is joining the Road Warriors in Dubai.
NLEX apparently wanted to avoid the case that happened between Jared Dillinger and the Meralco Bolts, which put the Fil-Am on the unrestricted agent list.
Despite their agreement that Dillinger will be reactivated as soon as he recovers from injury, the Fil-Am player instead signed a deal with Barangay Ginebra.
Following reports of Taulava being listed as unrestricted, fans have been clamoring that he also be transferred to Ginebra.
