PBA: Magnolia picks apart Bolick, NorthPort; NLEX still unbeaten

Magnolia secured its first victory in the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup by beating NorthPort 96-80 at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

Ian Sangalang led the Hotshots in scoring with 28 points, while Romeo Travis tallied 17. 

Mark Barroca came up with an all around performance of 16 points on 5 of 9 field goal shooting to go with 3 assists and 2 blocks.

He also played a big part in limiting Robert Bolick to just 7 points.

Smarting from its loss against Meralco last time, in which it blew a 16-point lead, Magnolia clamped down on NorthPort limiting the Batang Pier to just 8 points in the second quarter.

The Hotshots continued the barrage until they slacked off in the final period where they were outscored 28-14 by NorthPort.

This, however, wasn't enough to save Bolick and the the Batang Pier from their first loss in 2 games.

In the other game, NLEX pocketed its second straight victory with a 105-99 win of Meralco.

The Road Warriors squandered a 20-point lead but was able to hold off the Bolts in the end.

JR Quiñahan paced the Road Warriors with 19 points, while Kiefer Ravena added 15.
