MANILA, Philippines -- The Mapua Cardinals and the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals engaged in a free-for-all with just 28.5 seconds to go in their NCAA Season 90 men's basketball game Monday at the Arena in San Juan.

EAC was in control, leading 86-77, when John Tayongtong bumped into Mapua's CJ Isit at halfcourt.

Mapua's Hesed Gabo responded by elbowing Tayongtong, and the situation escalated when Tayongtong threw a punch that sent Isit to the floor.

It then turned into a bench clearing brawl as players from both teams spilled into the court, with the referees, bouncers, and coaches trying to put a stop to the melee.

It was later announced that NCAA Commissioner Bai Cristobal had decided to call off the game, awarding EAC the 86-77 victory.

Both teams had only one player left after the brawl: Jessie Saitanan for Mapua and Joshua General for EAC.

The rest of the players and members of the coaching staff were all thrown out of the playing court.
