The Philippines men's national basketball team is on its way back to Manila following an 81-73 loss to Iran in the Asian qualifiers of the 2019 FIBA World Cup in Tehran.
According to a social media post by ESPN 5 Friday night, coach Yeng Guiao and the squad were set to board their plane after a prolonged delay at a Dubai airport.
The team is expected to arrive in the country just as Luzon braces for Typhoon Ompong.
Guiao and his squad will take on Qatar in a closed-door game at Araneta Coliseum on Monday. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
