MANILA - All-Filipino Dota 2 team TNC Predator on Friday announced that two of its veteran players will be leaving the team after four years, shocking Filipino Dota fans.
In a video uploaded on the team's Facebook page, Eric Redulfin, TNC CEO thanked Carlo "Kuku^" Palad and Nico "eyyou" Barcelon, who were with the team as early as their The International debut in 2016.
"Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanila sa pagtitiwala na binigay nila sa TNC at siguro, kahit papaaano nakapagbigay tayo ng inspiration sa mga Dota players dahil kina Kuku at eyyou," Redulfin said.
Redulfin also recognized the efforts made by both players to propel TNC into a world-caliber team.
With Kuku^ and eyyou in TNC, the squad became the first Filipino team to qualify for The International (TI). It was also the second Southeast Asian team to enjoy the feat after Mineski in TI1.
TNC Predator in August was inches away from being the first all-Pinoy squad to make it in the top 6 of TI9, but lost to Team Liquid. The squad was eventually eliminated in the second round of the lower-bracket play-offs.
Days after the TI from August 20 to 25 in Shanghai, Kuku^ tweeted "LFT" paired with an emoji of a pair of eyes -- hinting that he may be looking for another team.
Kuku^ later on retracted the tweet and apologized to his fans on Facebook for the prank.
The next step for both players remains unclear as of writing.
