Malditas unveil provisional roster

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine national women’s team, also known as the Malditas, has released a provisional list of players in preparation for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Championships next month.

Malditas coach Ernest Nierras said in SoccerCentral.ph that the 26 players who made it into the provisional list will still be tapered down to a final roster of 20 that will see action in the tournament in Laos.

The following players made it into the provisional list:

5. Stephanie Pheasant - DLSU
6. Jowie-Ann Barruga - UST
7. Marielle Benitez (Captain) - DLSU
8. Marice Magdolot - UST
9. Nikki Regalado - UST
10. Natasha Alquiros - DLSU
11. Joma Clemente - UST
12. Betina Yang - DLSU
13. Inna Palacios (GK)
14. Jane Pacana - UST
15. Camille Rodriguez - Miriam
16. Aiza Mondero - UST
17. Zipporah Luna (GK)
18. Marie Magdolot - UST
19. Patrice Impelido - WMU
20. Heather Cooke - Loyola
21. Mallory Dayot - Alcorn
22. Cristina Keuter - GER
23. Lorenne Bayani - GER
24. Pricilla Rubio - UST

Included in the list are Filipino-American Heather Cooke and Filipino-German Cristina Keuter.

The 21-year-old Cooke played centerback for Loyola University Maryland women's football while the 22-year-old Keuter played pro football with SC Fotruna Köln – a football club from the city of Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia.
