NBA store to open in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – After launching the NBA Cafe at SM Aura, now comes the first official NBA Store in Southeast Asia, which will open in Manila later this year.

Filipino basketball fans will be able to buy authentic NBA merchandise and memorabilia at the NBA Store Philippines, which will feature a "comprehensive assortment of NBA products," the league announced on Wednesday. []

The store will also carry merchandise from all 30 NBA teams as well as autographed memorabilia for exclusive products only available at the NBA Store Philippines.

The NBA did not specify exactly when the store will open, but announced that there will be a series of fan activities at the Glorietta Main Activity Center in Ayala Center from September 12 to 13 in celebration of Wednesday's announcement.

The weekend will include meet-and-greet with celebrities, hip-hop dance workshops, and an NBA 2K14 face-off between celebrities and gaming fanatics. The public will also get to a sneak peek of some of the NBA merchandise that will be available at the store

Visiting NBA players Robin Lopez and Wesley Matthews of the Portland Trail Blazers and NBA champion Avery Johnson, along with the Laker Girls, will make an appearance at this weekend's festivities.
