After losing to a pair of European behemoths, the Philippines men's national team looks to get its first win when the Filipinos battle Angola in their last group game in the 2019 FIBA World Cup on Wednesday.
Tip-off is at 3:30 p.m., at Foshan city's International Sports & Cultural Arena.
If Gilas Pilipinas and Angola have something in common, it's that they enter their contest trying to shake off massive defeats in Serbia and Italy's hands.
Head coach Yeng Guiao and co., 9 places higher than their African opponents in the FIBA world rankings, said he hopes to have a "good match-up" against Angola, a team President Rodrigo Duterte once said the Filipinos should not have a hard time beating.
Will Gilas be the team that breaks its slump? Or will Angola pile on the Filipinos' continuing misery?
