MANILA, Philippines – Naturalized center Andray Blatche and Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson are both included in the 24-man line-up submitted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) to FIBA for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championships.
Quinito Henson of The Philippine Star posted on Instagram the full list of players, which was submitted by SBP to FIBA last August 20.
According to Henson, only the players who are included in the 24-man line-up can be selected in the final 12-man roster that will compete in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championships in China in September.
Clarkson, the Los Angeles Lakers guard who was named to the 2015 All-Rookie First Team, was included in the 24-man line-up after it was revealed that he has been a Philippine passport holder since he was 12 years old.
FIBA eligibility rules mandate that dual citizens who wish to play for their country as a local should hold a passport by the time they are 16.
Clarkson arrived in Manila Monday night to observe the practices of Gilas Pilipinas and watch the team as they compete in the Jones Cup.
