MANILA, Philippines – Hard-hitting Argentinian boxer Marcoa Maidana is now looking for a rematch against British boxing star Amir "King" Khan.

This, after Maidana's bout with Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero was canceled when the latter sustained a serious shoulder injury.

"It was terribly disappointing, especially when you hear the news only 8 days before the fight," Maidana told

Maidana is now calling out Khan, whom he fought last year in a match that was named Fight of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Maidana had nearly knocked out Khan in the 10th round of their bout, before the British boxer rallied back and won via unanimous decision.

"I don't believe this big mouth (Khan) has the [courage] to fight me again," he said. "He keeps fooling his own fans by making excuses all the time."

"I think I deserve it, and he knows it," Maidana said of a rematch. "But instead he petitions the WBA from preventing the fight by saying that he has biggest challenges ahead."

Golden Boy Promotions chief executive officer Richard Schaefer, meanwhile, remains confident he can find a suitable opponent for Maidana.

"The good news is that we know that Marcos Maidana is willing to fight anyone," he told
