The Philippines added another bronze to its medal collection in the 2018 Asian Games, thanks to a podium finish by wushu practitioner Divine Wally in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The national softball team could have added to the Filipinos' joy later in the night, with a win over Chinese-Taipei that would have assured the Philippines of another bronze.

But the Blu Girls wasted a number of chances to salvage victory, en route to a 3-2 loss

Now, the Filipinas must win a playoff game on Thursday against the same opponent to keep their medal hopes alive.

Wally's bronze was the fifth overall by the Philippines, behind a pair taken home by the men's and women's poomsae teams, and one each by Pauline Lopez (taekwondo) and Agatha Wong (wushu).

In Palembang, Liza del Rosario, Lara Posadas and Alexis Sy finished seventh place in the trios event of the bowling competition at Jakabaring Sports City Bowling Center.

Meanwhile, the men's national basketball team took some time off after its near-victory over China on Tuesday night.

The women's volleyball side took a break on Wednesday before playing Hong Kong Thursday.
