After a thrilling PBA finals, San Miguel Beer and TNT rekindle their rivalry when they compete in the Terrific 12 East Asia Super League in Macao next month.
Teams from pro basketball leagues in China, Japan and South Korea are expected to join, while a third PBA team, Blackwater, will be participating.
The tournament runs from September 17 to 22.
The participating teams in East Asia Super League include the Liaoning Flying Leopards, the Shenzhen Aviators, and the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions from China; the Chiba Jets, the Niigata Albirex, the Ryukyu Golden Kings and the Utsunomiya Brex from Japan; and the Jeonju KCC Egis and the Seoul SK Knights from Korea.
The clubs will be divided into 4 groups of 3 teams, with each team playing twice in the preliminaries.
The teams that top their respective groups advance to the semifinals, with the winners advancing to the final.
The champion will be awarded $150,000, the runner-up $100,000, and third place $50,000.
