PBA: Meralco welcomes back best import Allen Durham, as Governors’ Cup opens

Two-time best import Allen Durham is set to make his return to the PBA when Meralco collides against Columbian Dyip on the opening day of the Governors Cup' at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo on Friday.

Durham and the Bolts are scheduled to tangle with Akeem Wright and the Dyip at 4:30 p.m. followed by the 7 p.m. clash between NLEX and TNT. 

According to PBA.ph, reigning Governors Cup champion Barangay Ginebra, also the winner in the recent Commissioner's Cup, and San Miguel Beer won't see action in the first two weeks of the season-ending tournament. 

But Justin Brownlee will still be reinforcing the Gin Kings when they return against the Dyip on August 31.

The Beermen, on the other hand, will be having AZ Reid as their import when they tackle NLEX on September 1.

Rain Or Shine won't be around in the first 5 weeks of the conference since its core will render national duty in the coming Asian Games in Indonesia.

The Elasto Painters will return on September 22 against the KaTropa.

The PBA Governors’ Cup will feature imports with a height ceiling of 6-foot-5.

Nine clubs decided to bring in veteran PBA imports while the remaining 3 opted to sign up new reinforcements.
