MANILA, Philippines—Defending champion Petron made quick work of Marinerang Pilipina, 25-18, 25-13, 25-11, to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday.

At FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas caught fire for the Blaze Spikers, who stretched their winning streak to 12 matches.

She delivered 15 points along with 12 digs, while Bernadeth Pons and skipper Ces Molina combined for 24 points for Petron.

The Blaze Spikers needed just an hour and 25 minutes to win.

"Of course, we're really happy. This is what we've been working hard for," said coach Shaq delos Santos. "What we've been through in the preliminary round is not easy, and because of that, we are inspired to be better."

The Blaze Spikers were in full control of the game, allowing delos Santos to field in his seldom-used players, including Mary Anne Esguerra, Mela Tunay and Toni Basas.

Dimdim Pacres and Judith Abil finished with seven points apiece for Marinerang Pilipina, which ended its campaign without a single win.

The Blaze Spikers will clash with the survivor in the other quarterfinal battle between Generika-Ayala and Cignal, who will play Friday.
