Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday officially became the first incumbent senator to play in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

His performance on the basketball court, however, left much to be desired.

The Mahindra playing coach struggled against taller opponents from the Alaska Aces in their PBA Governors' Cup clash.

He was wildly cheered by fans when he entered the game with 2:59 minutes remaining in the first quarter, while the Enforcers were down 17-20.

The 5'6 1/2" Pacquiao took it upon himself to guard the 6'2" Calvin Abueva, who fired two-three pointers against the politician-athlete.

Abueva later smiled at Pacquiao as Alaska's lead went up to 31-23 going to the second quarter.

Pacquiao went scoreless in the nearly three minutes he played in the first period of the game.
