Pinoy judoka Hoshina yields to South Korean

MANILA, Philippines -- Filipino-Japanese Tomohiko Hoshina has lost his round of 32 battle against South Korea's Kim Sung-Min in the London's Olympics men's judo.

Kim toppled Hoshina to score an ippon, which means a full point, during their clash in the men's heavyweight division.

Kim advanced to the round of 16, while Hoshina joined other Filipino athletes to the exit door.

Among the Filipinos who remain in contention for Olympic medals are amateur boxer Mark Barriga, 5,000 meter runner Rene Herrera, long jumper Marestela Toerres and BMX rider Danny Caluag.
