Manny Pacquiao wasn't the only winner in his bout against Keith Thurman last week.
Groups supporting patients battling the disease known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) were rewarded, too, after the shorts Pacquiao wore during the July 20 world-title fight sold for $24,750 at an auction.
That's equivalent to roughly P1.27 million.
The bidding, done online via CharityBuzz.com and closed on Thursday, supported Jimmy Kimmel Live's ALS Charity Initiative.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, ALS is a "rare neurological diseases that mainly involve the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement."
