MANILA, Philippines -- Retired NBA star Muggsy Bogues has no clue if he will be asked to take part in "Space Jam 2," the sequel to the wildly successful film that starred Michael Jordan in 1996.
Bogues, who starred for the Charlotte Hornets for 10 seasons, was among the many NBA players who had roles in the movie, memorably getting his skills and talent stolen by the Monstars.
It took years, but a sequel is now in production with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James set to star in "Space Jam 2." Asked if he will have a role in it, Bogues just chuckled.
"I have no clue. I haven't heard anything," said Bogues, who is in Manila for the NBA 3X Philippines event this weekend.
"I don't know what the concept ... we saved the planet, I don't know what they're gonna save, the universe? So who knows. I don't know," he added.

Asked if he will want to be part of the film, Bogues said: "I mean, it all depends on how it all takes place."
"I mean, I can't see it topping... you know, but it could be something for this generation, I don't know. So, I have to see how it all play out but I haven't been asked to do anything for 'Space Jam 2,'" he added.
Aside from James, Golden State's Klay Thompson and Lakers big man Anthony Davis also have roles in "Space Jam 2." Also expected to appear in the movie are Portland's Damian Lillard, and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike, and Chiney Ogwumike.
