MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE) Lyceum of the Philippines University used a massive fourth quarter to power past San Sebastian College, 80-69, in the NCAA Season 95 men's basketball tournament on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Down by as much as 13 points in the second round, the Pirates clamped down defensively in the second half, and limited the Stags to just 10 points in the final quarter to complete the come-from-behind victory.

It was Lyceum's second straight win, hiking their record to 3-1. Meanwhile, San Sebastian lost for the first time this season after winning its first two games.

"We all know coming into the game that we're not out there to beat San Sebastian, we're out there to play our best, no matter the circumstances in front of us," said Lyceum coach Topex Robinson.

"We just kept on playing. They were making shots, we just kept on playing, and we were just lucky at the end that they started missing," he added.

Jayvee Marcelino led Lyceum with 12 points, while twin brother Jaycee had 11 points. Former San Sebastian guard Enzo Navarro also had 11 points, while another ex-Stag in Jayson David had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Mike Nzeusseu, playing in his first game of the season, had 6 points and 6 rebounds in under 25 minutes.

Perhaps more impressive was Lyceum's defensive effort, as they held RK Ilagan scoreless and limited him to just four shot attempts. Ilagan entered the game averaging 22.5 points in two contests.

The Golden Stags were in control for most of the game, and still led 59-52 entering the final quarter.

But the Pirates opened the fourth period with 6 unanswered points to make it a one-point game, before shots by Itchie Altamirano, Arjan dela Cruz, and JM Calma helped the Stags restore a 66-61 advantage.

Lyceum silenced them for over four minutes, however, while the Pirates waxed hot from beyond the arc. A huge triple by David spurred a 13-0 blast, giving them a 74-66 lead with 2:37 left. It was Navarro who put the finishing touches on the scoring run, nailing a corner triple off a perfectly executed out-of-bounds play.

A jumper by Allyn Bulanadi at the 2:12 mark ended San Sebastian's long silence, but the Pirates responded with shots from Reymar Caduyac and Jaycee Marcelino to remain in control.

With Ilagan shackled, it was Bulanadi who led the Stags in scoring with 13 points, though he shot just 5-of-15 from the field. Ramil Tero added 12 points, as San Sebastian connected on just 35.14% of their attempts.

The scores:

LYCEUM 80 - Marcelino JV 12, Marcelino JC 11, Navarro 11, Valdez 11, David 10, Caduyac 7, Nzeusseu 6, Tansingco 5, Santos 3, Ibanez 2, Pretta 2, Yong 0
