SAN FRANCISCO – Filipino lightweight Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta and his Mexican opponent Luis Arceo met outside of the Madam Tussauds in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf for the official weigh in.

Both fighters made weight with Gesta coming in at 138.5 pounds while Arceo came in at 137 for Friday night’s 10-round lightweight fight.

Gesta has a record of 27 wins, 15 by KO, 1 loss, and 1 draw.

His opponent has a record of 28 wins, 18 by KO, 12 losses, and 4 draws.

Gesta is happy the weigh in is over and is ready for the fight.

“It’s hard for the weigh in but after that weigh in, all the training, all the things we’ve been doing in the gym, sparring, those are the wars and the fight is the last one and I can’t wait,” said Gesta.

This will be Gesta’s second fight in San Francisco and is happy for all the support from the Filipinos in the Bay Area.

“Coming back here fighting where all my fans especially in the Filipino community that support me in san Francisco and I like being here in San Francisco I try to go different places and I miss fighting here,” said Gesta.

IBA Superflyweight Champion Bruno Escalante was on hand to support his fellow Cebuano fighter.

“I think he’s going to win by knockout, early rounds,” predicted Escalante. “He looks very strong.”

Gesta didn’t want to give a prediction but says he is very confident in his skills.

“I’m the kind of fighter that doesn’t say what’s going to happen but all I can say is that I’m ready for the fight,” said Gesta. “I’m a 100 percent conditioned and I’m just ready for the fight.”
