Mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor teased Manny Pacquiao to a fight after the Filipino world champion boxer greeted him on his birthday.
McGregor, who has repeatedly mentioned his intent to return to boxing, posted a Twitter message in response to Pacquiao's greeting.
This apparently meant McGregor is willing to take on Pacquiao in a boxing match at 170 pounds.
Pacquiao regularly fights at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.
The proposed match could turn out to be a huge payday for both fighters, who belong to the same sports management group Paradigm Sports.
McGregor made his initial foray in boxing against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in August 2017. The American dismantled McGregor, before stopping the Irishman in the 10th round.
Pacquiao said he is open to a match with the the former UFC champion, even signing with Paradigm apparently to ramp up the negotiations.
