MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE) RK Ilagan and Allyn Bulanadi conspired to give San Sebastian College a 92-68 triumph over Mapua University, giving them a share of the lead in the NCAA Season 95 men's basketball tournament.

The victory by the Stags on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan gave them a 2-0 win-loss record early in the season, tied with defending champion San Beda University at the top of the league standings.

San Sebastian broke the game open with a huge second quarter that saw them outscore the Cardinals, 30-12, to claim a 46-23 lead heading into the break. Ilagan and Bulanadi were unstoppable, as the two combined for 25 points in the first half.

It was a total team effort for the Golden Stags, as six players reached double-digits in the comfortable victory. Ilagan had 20 points and 8 assists, and Bulanadi -- playing in a full game for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury in the PBA D-League -- had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Alex Desoyo (14), Ken Villapando (13), JM Calma (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Alvin Capobres (10) also had their moments as the Golden Stags shot 43.06% from the field.

"For us, we're very happy," said San Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya after the game. "The boys are just playing well, focusing on the game plan. Everybody is enjoying the game and playing good defense."

After taking a 23-point lead at the break, San Sebastian cruised to victory in the second half. They led by as much as 33 points, 62-29, off a coast-to-coast bucket by Calma with 5:47 to go in the third quarter.

A 12-2 run by Mapua trimmed the lead to 23 points, 64-41, anchored by Noah Lugo. But back-to-back shots by Itchie Altamirano and Villapando gave the momentum back to the Golden Stags, and they had little trouble in fending off the Cardinals in the fourth quarter.

Lugo led Mapua with 13 points, while Laurenz Victoria had 11 points, and Warren Bonifacio scored 10 markers. But the Cardinals shot only 31.43% from the field, and never recovered from the brutal third quarter where they were outscored by 18 points.

Mapua dropped to 0-2 in the tournament.
