It's no secret that coach Yeng Guiao has a short fuse when it comes to coaching.

But San Miguel Beer forward Arwind Santos said it's that tough love that brought them closer together.

In a recent episode of "PBA Kamustahan", Santos recalled an incident involving him and the current NLEX coach.

Back then, he was part of the national team together with Ranidel de Ocampo and Willie Miller that competed in the 2009 FIBA Asia men's championship in Tianjin.

Santos said he felt really bad that he wanted to leave the team and head home to the Philippines.

"Tinawagan ko na asawa ko," he said, although his teammates were quick to pacify him.

"Roommate tayo noon, tapos umiyak ka," said De Ocampo, who also participated in the online interview. "Sabi ko, 'Kalma ka lang'."

Santos said Miller and De Ocampo told him he shouldn't take the dressing down personally.

Later, Santos made Guiao godfather to his marriage.
