MANILA, Philippines – Undefeated lightweight Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios has declared that he wants a chance to fight pound-for-pound king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
Rios is coming off a thrilling 3rd round knockout over Urbano Antillon, a bout wherein Rios showed off his trademark aggression and punching power.
"Any champion looking for a fight, I'm here," Rios declared, according to USAToday.com.
Rios is looking to move up to 140 lbs and is setting his sights on Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana, but has said that he wants to fight everybody.
A fight between Pacquiao and Rios is possible because the 2 boxers are both promoted by Top Rank.
The boxing promotion's head honcho, Bob Arum, has admitted that he can put a Pacquiao-Rios fight together.
"In a year or two, I would put him in with Manny Pacquiao," Arum said. "I think he's a guy that can match Manny’s speed and power."
Arum said that a bout between the Pacquiao and Rios will be very competitive because Rios has the heart and the strength to match "Pacman."
"If Bob Arum thinks I can fight Pacquiao, well, he knows the business better than anybody. He knows what he's talking about, and I’ll be ready," Rios said.
