Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has announced that he will not participate in the restart of the NBA season after testing positive once again for COVID-19.

The 27-year-old Dinwiddie previously tested positive last June 29. He received another positive test this week, the guard revealed on Twitter.

"After another positive test yesterday and considering the symptoms, Brooklyn Nets doctors and I have decided that it would be in the best interest for me and the team that I do not play in Orlando," said Dinwiddie.

The Nets currently sit at the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with a 30-34 win-loss record.

Dinwiddie, in his sixth season in the NBA, is averaging a career-high 20.6 points along with 6.8 assists per game for the Nets.

Aside from Dinwiddie, center DeAndre Jordan and forward Wilson Chandler are also not joining Brooklyn in the restart.
