MANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine will replace Denzel Bowles, after the prolific import suffered a knee injury during their game against the Alaska Aces last Saturday.

According to the PBA website, Bowles was diagnosed with a medial meniscus tear and a small medial collateral ligament tear in his right knee.

The injury happened after Bowles collided with Jeron Teng in the second quarter of their 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup game and had to be helped off the court.

Rain or Shine still won, 86-84.

Spin.ph reported that Carl Montgomery, who formerly played in Malaysia, has been brought in to replace Bowles and should be available for their game against the Magnolia Hotshots on Wednesday.

Bowles was averaging 28.9 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game in the conference. Before suffering the injury, he already had 16 points against Alaska.
