MANILA, Philippines -- The young volleyball stars of the show "TBH" -- and Ateneo de Manila University icon Denden Lazaro -- have one wish when it comes to Philippine volleyball.
"I think it might be political to say this," Lazaro said when she appeared on the show's second episode on Tuesday, "I just hope there's one league na lang for everyone."
"The volleyball community, like us players, we're all united," she added.
Ateneo's Ponggay Gaston agreed with her senior, saying a unified league will bring back the collegiate vibe of the UAAP.
"And the sportsmanship will really grow," she added. "The program itself, Philippine volleyball will grow if we just join one league."
Former De La Salle University setter Michelle Cobb, for her part, hopes that men's and women's volleyball can be given equal treatment.
She was a fan of the scheduling of the UAAP Season 82 tournaments, when men's and women's games were alternated. That meant that at least one men's volleyball game was given the spotlight in the afternoon, as opposed to always playing in the mornings.
"What I really want to happen, sana in the next few years, sana in the same level na," she said.
