Filipino super-bantamweight title prospect Mike Plania is all set to return home to his family in General Santos after his upset victory over Joshua Greer Jr. in mid-June.

Plania, who was forced to stay in the US for months because of the COVID-19 pandemic, is expected to fly in Manila later this week, according to a article.

Because of COVID-19, he will need to go through health protocols first when he lands in the Philippines.

“I know all the hassles I will have to go through, but it’s fine as long as everyone’s safety is ensured. I will comply with all the procedures just to be with my family again," Plania said.

"I badly miss my family, baby and, of course, I can’t wait to celebrate my victory with my Sanman Team. This was the biggest win of my career."

Plania proved doubters wrong by knocking down Greer twice en route to an upset win in their 10-round, 120-pound catch-weight bout in Las Vegas on June 16.

Greer came in as a favorite because of his status as WBO's No. 1 bantamweight contender.

Plania's manager and Sanman CEO Jim Claude Manangquil said his group will discuss Plania’s future, specifically their plan to move up to 122 and look for a world title fight.
