PVL: BanKo still in semis hunt, as Creamline surge continues

Repeat-seeking Creamline shook off a cold start as the Cool Smashers turned back PacificTown Army 16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16 in San Juan on Wednesday to keep their winning streak alive in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference.

Meanwhile, BanKo secured at least a playoff for a final 4 berth after drubbing listless BaliPure 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 in the penultimate playdate of the tournament's elimination round.

Nicole Tiamzon and Kathy Bersola played clutch in the closing stretch of the tight third set at at FilOil Flying V Centre to deliver the Perlas Spikers’ second straight win for a 4-5 win-loss record tied with PacificTown Army.

Behind Kuttika Kaewpin, Alyssa Valdez and Ale Blanco, Creamline stretched its winning romp further with its 8th straight victory to join PetroGazz at the top spot with a 8-1 win-loss record.

Kaewpin fired 16 attacks and had 3 kill blocks for 19 points and added 16 digs for the Cool Smashers, who will close their elims campaign on Saturday against also-ran BaliPure. Blanco added 16 points off 10 attacks, four kill blocks and two aces while Valdez got 11 markers for Creamline, which had 47 attack points behind setter Jia Morado's 287 excellent sets.
