The Philippine Sports Commission began conducting COVID-19 swab tests for employees who are part of its skeleton workforce at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC) in Manila on Thursday.
The PSC Medical Scientific Athletes Service (MSAS) Unit set up the swabbing area just outside the PSC's administrative building.
Among the employees tested were the agency's security personnel and medical staff.
“This is one of the efforts of the PSC in ensuring the safety of our employees,” said MSAS official Ellen Constantino.
The PSC said it will be testing 100 personnel at the Rizal until June 29. It will also conduct 50 swab tests at the PhilSports Complex in Pasig on Friday, June 26, including the remaining 18 athletes and 4 coaches inside the PSC dormitory.
Last June 9, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium (NAS), one of the PSC facilities converted to We Heal as One Centers for COVID-19 patients, discharged 123 patients with no recorded fatality.
