MANILA, Philippines – Jomary Torres is determined to get back to the winner's circle when she takes on Malaysia's Jihin "Shadow Cat" Radzuan at ONE: Masters of Destiny, to be held on July 12 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

Victory has evaded Torres as of late, as she has dropped three straight matches since September 2018, when she bowed to Priscillar Gaol at ONE: Conquest of Heroes.

She then lost to Mei Yamaguchi at ONE: Destiny of Champions in December, and to Heqin Lin at ONE: Reign of Valor last March.

Instead of sulking after her losses, however, Torres has chosen to take each experience as a lesson. She thus feels well-prepared to face Radzuan, even as she knows that she will have the crowd against her that night against the hometown bet.

"It will be a good fight. Jihin is a good fighter," said Torres. "She's strong and skilled."

"Both of us are hungry to win. I will give my best in this fight," she vowed.

Torres' resolve will be tested against the "Shadow Cat." Radzuan had won her first four professional bouts, until she ran into Team Lakay's Gina Iniong

Torres believes that her hard work and trust in her team will result in an upset in Radzuan's hometown.

"Jihin is strong and very well-rounded," said Torres. "She can strike and she can take the fight to the ground. I have to be at my very best if I am to take the victory."

"My team and I have prepared well for this fight. Every fighter has holes in their game. There is no perfect fighter. There is always a weakness. We've studied her and we have prepared a good game plan. Now it's just time to execute," she added.

The 23-year-old, under the guidance of ONE veteran Rene Catalan, has been training non-stop for one of the most important bouts of her career.

"I want everyone to know I am always hungry and determined to win," she says. "Each time I step into the cage, I am looking for victory. I want to bring honor and glory to my country."
