MPBL: Pasay edges Muntinlupa to claim early lead in North Division

Pasay Voyagers beat Muntinlupa Cagers Angelis Resort 76-75 in a thrilling overtime finish in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup at Muntinlupa Sports Complex on Saturday.

Raymund Ilagan scored 4 of his 6 points in the last 2 minutes to help Voyagers keep an unbeaten slate and solo lead in the North Division standings.

Elvin Chan led Pasay with 11 points.

Voyagers was up 62-58 before the end of regulation, but Dave Moralde and Ryusei Koga scored the next 4 points for Muntinlupa to send the game to overtime.

Chan then initiated the action for the Voyagers in the extension, paving the way for Pasay's second straight victory.

Muntinlupa remained winless in 2 games.

In the other game, Harold Arboleda tallied 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines past Pasig City Sta. Lucia Realtors 82-69.

Zamboanga now has a 1-1 record.

Pasig’s defeat ruined Jeric Teng’s MPBL debut, as the former PBA pro led the Realtors with 17 points in the loss.
