In what could be a glimpse of the Philippine national team's future frontline, towering teenagers Kai Sotto and Sage Tolentino met during the Fathers' Day celebration of East-West Private over the weekend.
The Atlanta-based management company posted a photo of the two Filipino teenagers along with members of their family, including Kai's father, Ervin Sotto.
The 18-year-old Sotto already stands at 7-foot-2, and is set to play in the NBA G League as part of its Select Team in the near future.
Tolentino, meanwhile, is only 16 years old yet already stands at 7-feet.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) confirmed in January that they have reached out to Tolentino, who currently plays high school basketball in Hawaii.
In an Instagram story, Tolentino raved about meeting Sotto, calling him someone "taller than me."
Aside from Sotto and Tolentino, SBP has also tapped 20-year-old AJ Edu as one of its prospects for the future. Edu has already represented the country in the youth level, and is recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered while playing in the FIBA Under-19 World Cup last year.
