Former PBA MVP Jimmy Alapag will be joining the Sacramento Kings coaching staff for the NBA Summer League, according to a report published on the local ESPN website Saturday.
Alapag has already accepted the invitation extended by Sacramento general manager and former NBA player Vlade Divac.
“As a Coach, it's important to continue to grow and learn. So thankful to Vlade Divac and the Sacramento Kings organization for the opportunity to join their Summer League staff in Vegas this year. Looking forward to the entire experience! Always an honor to represent PH basketball!!!” said Alapag in his Instagram post.
The former Gilas Pilipinas stalwart became a full-time coach following his retirement from the PBA.
He mentored the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas to the 2017-2018 ASEAN Basketball League championship, before accepting a deputy coaching job for San Miguel Beer in the PBA.
