Sports officials must find a way to get athletes to return to training, especially those eyeing Olympic slots, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said on Friday.

The lawmaker urged the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee to come up with a plan enabling athletes and coaches to use available sports facilities in a manner that is still compliant with health protocols.

Guidelines must be implemented in close coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases to ensure the health of the national pool, the senator added.

Many sports facilities including the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, the PhilSports Complex and New Clark City were used as quarantine areas.

“Marami namang mga pasilidad na pwedeng gamitin for training basta monitored and supervised ito ng PSC at POC," Go said.
