Roger Pogoy made 10 3-pointers en route to a career-high 38 points to lead TNT past Barangay Ginebra 104-96 in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
Pogoy scored most of his points in the fourth quarter, where TNT outscored the defending champions 35-19.
His team down 77-69 after 3 quarters, Pogoy got going in the final 12 minutes, where he dropped 16 points and drilled 4 3-pointers to key TNT's comeback.
The KaTropa raised their record to 5-1, tying Blackwater and NorthPort for the tournament's best record, while Ginebra fell to 2-3.
According to Fidel Mangonon III, the league's chief statistician, Pogoy is only one of 4 local players to make 10 triples in a game after Kenneth Duremdes, Marcio Lassiter and Allan Caidic, who did it twice.
Jayson Castro (9) used to hold the TNT franchise record for most 3-pointers.
All in all, Pogoy made 10 of 18 from downtown for a torrid 55% clip.
Terrence Jones shared the spotlight with Pogoy, producing 17 points, 14 rebounds, 16 assists and 5 blocks.
Castro added 17 points.
Justin Brownlee led Ginebra with 29 points and 17 rebounds.
