Parantac wins 3rd gold for PH; Lady Volcanoes earn bronze

Daniel Parantac gave the Philippines its third gold medal of the 28th Southeast Asian Games after topping Men's Optional Taijijian event in the Wushu competitions Sunday at the EXPO Hall 2 in Singapore.

Parantac finished with a score of 9.71, edging Malaysia's Jack Chang Loh, who earned a score of 9.69 and settled for silver.

Indonesia's Julius Kurniawan took bronze with a score of 9.68.

Parantac joins triathletes Claire Adorna and Nikko Huelgas as the gold medalists for the Philippines so far in the SEA Games.

Meanwhile, the Philippine women's rugby sevens team, the Lady Volcanoes, shut out Malaysia, 22-0, to finish with a bronze medal.

Sylvia Tudoc, Aiumi Ono, Rosemarie dela Cruz, and Madille Salinas all got on the scoreboard for the Filipinas.

The Philippines now has a total of 20 medals – three golds, six silvers, and 11 bronzes.
