MANILA, Philippines -- The Creamline Cool Smashers battled back from a set down to defeat BanKo Perlas in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The defending champions took the win in four sets, 23-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-23, racking up their second straight win.
Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin was spectacular for Creamline, putting up 27 points on 18 kills and a whopping 9 service aces. Alyssa Valdez added 19 points built on 18 attacks.
Ali Blanko came up clutch down the stretch, overpowering the BanKo Perlas net defense for the match-winner. She finished with 10 points in the match.
Creamline improved to 2-1, tied with PacificTown-Army for a share of second place behind unbeaten PetroGazz (3-0).
Meanwhile, BanKo Perlas dropped to 1-2, as they failed to build on a breakthrough triumph against BaliPure yesterday.
Kia Bright had 19 points, while Nicole Tiamzon added 12 points and Dzi Gervacio scored 11 for the Perlas Spikers.
