The defending champion Philippines Volcanoes outclassed top seed Sri Lanka 39-22 in the Asia Rugby Championship Division 1 at Taipei Municipal Stadium on Wednesday.
Sri Lanka ranks 44th in the world, while the Filipinos stand at 53rd.
The Volcanoes will face the winner between Singapore (57th) and Chinese-Taipei (63rd) in their match on Saturday.
The Volcanoes won the title in 2018 by beating Singapore 32-24 and 38-12 in a 2-legged playoff in Manila.
