MANILA, Philippines – Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong of San Miguel Beer have both been punished by the PBA for their roles in the "Spider-Man" incident that disrupted Game 5 of the Philippine Cup Finals earlier this month.
A man dressed in full Spider-Man costume, later identified as Paolo Felizarta from Imus, Cavite, entered the court late in Game 5, colliding with San Miguel's June Mar Fajardo before he was grabbed by security officials.
Tubid landed a punch on Felizarta, while Nabong was caught punching another man who was initially accused of being an accomplice.
Both were fined P75,000, and suspended for the first three games of the Commissioner's Cup.
San Miguel's assistant team manager, Daniel Henares, as well as Dr. Ramon Ibanez were fined P50,000 and suspended for two games.
The Beermen went on to beat the Magnolia Hotshots in seven games to win the PBA Philippine Cup for the fifth year in a row.
