MANILA, Philippines-- The best and brightest collegiate standouts from last season are set to take center stage in the 2019 Chooks-to-Go Collegiate Press Corps Awards.

The annual awards night held by the Collegiate Press Corps, composed of scribes from print and online outfits covering the NCAA and UAAP, will take place on Monday, May 27, at Amelie Hotel Manila in Malate, Manila.

Among those who will be recognized are champions of the men's basketball tournaments, San Beda University in the NCAA and Ateneo de Manila University in the UAAP.

The awards are not only reserved for champions, however, as special awards and breakout performers will also be feted in the celebration of excellence.

This past NCAA Season 94, the Red Lions earned their third straight title, thanks to the leadership and stellar play of Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon. With that, San Beda remains the standard of excellence after winning its 11th title in the last 13 years.

For their part, the Blue Eagles, spearheaded by Thirdy Ravena, won their second consecutive UAAP championship and eclipsed the UP Fighting Maroons who were on a Cinderella run.
