PBA D-League: SMDC-NU wraps up campaign by routing Perpetual

MANILA, Philippines – SMDC-NU racked up its fourth win in a row to end its campaign in the 2019 PBA D-League, crushing University of Perpetual Help, 100-74, on Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Dave Ildefonso led the way for NU with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, while John Lloyd Clemente scored 16 points off the bench.

Senegalese big man Issa Gaye nabbed a double-double with his 11 points, 16 rebounds, and three blocks. Patrick Yu added 13 points.

The Bulldogs thus ended their campaign in the developmental ranks on a solid note. They concluded their schedule with a 4-5 win-loss record in the Foundation Group.

SMDC-NU used a big third quarter to break the game open, scoring 24 points in the period. Clemente gave his team a 19-point lead, 67-48, late in the frame.

Their advantage ballooned to 26 points as the NU bench made most of the extended garbage time.

Tonton Peralta carried Perpetual (2-7) with his 18 points on a 4-of-11 clip from beyond the arc.
